The changes and growth of logistics and warehousing (L&W) are critical to the economic development and overall quality of life in the Inland Empire. Since the 2023-2024 academic year, CCS faculty and staff researchers hosted a series of in-person and virtual warehousing + policy seminars in addition to working on warehousing research generally.

The Development of the Logistics & Warehousing Industries in the Inland Region: Opportunities & Challenges
With foci guided by prior research, industry, government and community representatives were invited to share their perspective on key questions regarding the future of the L&W industries and their impacts to the region, Their answers provide the basis for an exploratory analysis that surfaces recurring themes, challenges and opportunities, and potential policy solutions to co bat the negative externalities associated with warehousing in the region.
Good Neighbor Guidelines Part 1
This case study explores the evolution and implementation of Good Neighbor Guidelines across six localities in the Inland Empire, including the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG), Riverside County, and the Cities of Riverside, Fontana, Moreno Valley, and Lake Elsinore. Through content analysis, researchers systematically reviewed these policies to identify key themes, such as air quality management, truck route planning, and noise reduction. The study highlights how each locality’s guidelines prioritize different aspects of community protection, reflecting their unique local priorities.
